IMAQ Cast Image error

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi guys!

So i've installed a program using a camera and some image analysis. It's running fine on another computer, but when installing this second system i get:

error.png

From searching i found: https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/imaq-cast-image-error/m-p/3217035/highlight/true#M934230

which suggests it's a license activation issue. I have however activated the Runtime license on this computer.

What to do?

Hi Yamaeda,

When you say "Runtime license", are you talking about the "NI Vision Acquisition Software" for $429 from this page?

Yes. The Vision Runtime.

I have also had trouble getting the vision license going. Are you able to open the camera in MAX?

So, it's fixed.

It seems i needed both NI Vision Acquisition software AND NI Vision Development Module and then activate both to get the program running.

Both can be installed/licensed with the Development module license.
