How to filter an fxp signal

Iam using crio 9024.

i have a signal which i have imported from fpga to real-time vi.

its data type is fxp.

i wish to filter this signal (lowpass) and perform spectral analysis.

however, nothing i seem to do works.

i use point by point filter but its output a single value. and hence even on conversion to dynamic data, filter express vi doesnt work.kindly help.

which vi can i use and how?

Hi Bgmnt,

why don't you convert the FXP to DBL - as is expected from nearly all signal analyzing functions?

Usually it helps to get an answer when you attach your VI or even a simplified version of it. Don't forget to include some example data as well by setting default values in controls/indicators…

I did.

however,

when i connect the dbl output to filter (signalexpress) , and connect a spectral measurement(fft in signal express) , no output is visible on the ftt indicator.

presumably because its takin in single data point at a time

Hi Bgmnt,

presumably yes…

I repeat from my previous post:
