How do you run frequency sweep in labview?

Hello. I would like to know how to run a freq. sweep in labview. What I am trying to do is sweep from say 5hz to 2000hz at a set amplitude using the analog output on my USB-6251 device and take the FFT at each frequency using peakhold averaging. So I can see the peak dB at each frequency as it sweeps up. I have used the sweep.vi example, but it seems as though there are major discontinuitites in the sweep. It is not smooth. The freq jumps and I get very funny results. When I hook up a function generator there is no problem. I get a good FFT. Say I drive at 0dB, I get a nice flatline at 0dB at each freq during the sweep using the function genator. So what I would like to know: is it possible to get an equivalent sort of smooth, continuous sweep from the analog output of the USB-6251? If so, how would I go about this?

Hello,

I just want to confirm the type of signal you want to generate. Are you trying to generate a chirp or a sweep with continuous discrete sweep with Integer number of periods so each new frequency perfectly line up? (Each frequency starts and stops at zero)

hello Eric,

i just want to ask if we are able to make sweep frequency analysis by using Arduino microcontroller device? im just not sure wether Arduino can handle this kind of function or not.if not,i need to buy the DAQ device from NI which is more costly than this Arduino.so this is a big decision to be made and i need your help.tq
