How do you create custom graphics similar to the pipes that come with the automation symbols tool kit?

Custom controls of this type are very application and even user specific, that's what custom controls are for.

Hehe, thanks guy! You are just great! I just felt too lazy to bother customizing the buttons in the too limited paint brush program. I only have the limited Adobe Photo Shop which does not have the full capability to individually select any odd shape of a portion or an object of an image. I really need to install one of those nice image editor sw.

I am in a rush to complete at least the basic functions of a Fm radio tuner GUI for the upcoming CES in Las Vegas next Jan.

Me, I normally use a really old version of Paintshop Pro. Simply because it has a really small foot print. You can create most of the same effects with it. But the nice examples don't exist hence I pointed you at the Photo shop examples. Still you can pull any sample of buttons you want into the custom control.

I suggest you create a blank button then add overlay graphics to the blank button.
