It should be in Help->About Labview

Hello,

You can locate your serial number by opening labview, then going to help and selecting About labview.  It should have your name, then your business, then your serial number.  I hope this helps!

Hi, I have LabVIEW 8.20

I pressed:

Help -->About Labview

It shows my name, and department, but no serial number

Is there somewhere else I can find my number?

Try running the NI License Manager.

Cory,

i asume that the dialog tells something about "Evaluation". You have to activate any version of LV 8.x and later. You have to have a valid serialnumber (included in the package of LV as "certificate of ownership" when buying LV) and then have to use the NI License Manager to activate the product.

When doing this, you have to enter the computer ID (available using License Manager) and maybe (since you seem not to have entered any serial yet) the serialnumber. The system will then retrieve an activationkey.

hope this helps,

Norbert

I personally don't know whether or not my version of LabVIEW is activated.

The program was installed for me when I got the computer from my department.

However, usually programs wont run (or will only run in a basic trial mode) until they are activated,

which makes me think that someone had to have a serial number somewhere
