How do I increase the AI gain in Ni-DAQmx Base for PDA?

I posted this question on the Multifuncion DAQ board a few days ago, but haven't had any responses yet...

I'm using a 6062E PCMCIA card on an iPAQ 5555, running PocketPC 2003. I was under the impression that I should be able to increase the gain on the AI channels of the DAQCard by using the task configuration utility for Ni-DAQmx Base. In this utility I raised the gain up to 100, but instead of amplifying the signal, it reduces the dynamic range. Instead of having +/- 5 V range, it has a +/- 50 mV range, and the signal I'm recording is not amplified at all.

Any suggestions?
