How do I get a 5 MHz plot from a spectrum analyzer to a VI?

Dennis_Knutson,

I downloaded the LabVIEW 8 Legacy Instrument Driver. The download provided a folder with several VIs. However, all the VIs start with "RSFSU" and the example VI is looking for sub-VIs that start with "rsspecan." So the example VI won't use any of the sub-VIs in the download. Not sure what I am doing wrong here.

Thank you,

Ian

The NI Instrument Driver Network points to http://www.rohde-schwarz.com/en/driver/fsu/

Perhaps that will work better.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your responses. I am still prettly lost however.

The link you provided list 7 drivers. The readme file for the example VI states the prerequisit is "rsspecan LabVIEW Instrument Driver." None of the 7 drivers listed on the page match that name. I tried a few of the drivers, but nothing seemed to work. Which driver should I download? Is there something other than just downloading the driver and installling it that I need to do. I am honestly confused as to how a driver even provides sub-VIs. Do I need to point LabVIEW towards the driver?

Thank you again,

Ian

One of the 7 is called LabVIEW 2010 rsspecan.

The main NI driver page has links that explain what a driver is and how to use one.

Thank you Dennis,

I was saving the driver folder in the wrong location, so LabVIEW could not find the sub-VIs. I got the example to open correctly.
