Hi all,
I want to make a temporary dialog box, so in short;
-User presses the start button
-Text appears over a section of the front panel
-When the program finishes the text goes away
-Without the user being able to interact with the text, ie. no close button
I hope I have explained this well enough for someone to understand,
Is this possible? and how could I do it?
Cheers,

Make a modal subVI that ignores all panel close events. Have the buttons on the main VI disable before running it and enable after running it.

Create a VI that shows its front panel when called and close when complete (set in the VI properties). All you need on the front panel (or at least visible) is your text. When the code inside of the VI is complete, it will close (when called from another VI).

Thank you for responding, I managed to find a way involving the classic string indicator and a loop to print the string to the front panel then set it to nothing after so it effectively dissapeared.
