File Corruption by Importing Image and 'Saving As'

This is among the most bizarre crashes I have experienced. It has taken me a long time to isolate the cause to one action. I've tried it on two computers and two versions of Labview with the same result. The procedure is as follows:

1. Open blank VI
2. Import Picture to Clipboard (menu:Edit): pipe.png
3. Paste onto front panel (ctrl-V)
4. Save (any file name)
5. Save As -> Copy -> Open additional copy -> (any file name)

Crash! - the two error messages are attached. “Load Error”

http://forums.ni.com/attachments/ni/170/258170/1/error2.jpg

Both files are then corrupt.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Additional Notes:

- System: Windows XP
- Labview Version 8.2 (also tried on version 8.0 on another computer running XP)
- corruption only seems to occur with the attached image “pipe.png”

Hi FMonkey,

I was able to reproduce the issue and have filed a report (#4BAHL189) with R&D for further investigation.  Thank you for the feedback.

Thanks.  For a while there I thought I was loosing my mind.

The worst part is that both the original and 'save as' file corrupt (regardless how big (or important) the vi is).
