Seems like the TDMS plugin (latest from: version 3.1, http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2944 ) for Excel does not work for Win7(64b). It installs ok, and an icon is avalable in Excel's add-ins tab, but nothing happens when activated.
Anyone with sucess in such a setup?
Thanks for any hints.
Henning

Hi heel,
We'd like to ask some questions to investigate your problem:
(1)Which version is your Office version? 2007 32/64bit?
(2)The icons in Excel's add-ins tab can be clicked, but nothing happened after you clicked any of the three?
If so, could you please check whether there is a log file named "ExcelTDM.log" in folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\TDM Excel Add-In
If there is, let us check it.
PS: The Add-In is supported to run in Win7 32/64 bit.

Hello,
Thanks for looking into this issue.
Office: There is no specific information on 32/64bit in the about box, but the files are all installed in the "c\:program files (x86)" so I guess it must be 32 bit. ( About says: 2007 (12.0.6514.5000)SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)
Action: Yes, I can click the 3 icons in the add-ins tab, but there is absolutly no reaction apart from the icon changing color as is customary when you press a control.
Logfile: Unfortunately there is no "ExcelTDM.log" logfile at the indicated location or anywhere else for that matter.
ReadMe.html: Note that Readme does not explicitly mention Win 7 as a supported platform.
I realize this is not much of information to work with, but let me know of anything else which could be of interest.
Thanks,
Henning

In order to debug I did as instructed in http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5885.
It seems that the COM add-in is not loading properly., But see dumps attached..

Thanks for your kind trouble shoot!
Would you please try the following steps to get a workaround?
(1)Control Panel->User Accounts->User Accounts->Change User Account Control settings. Turn off the UAC.
(2)Restart your computer.
(3)Do the steps instructed in http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5885.

Thanks for the help,
Setting UAC to never made TDMS import work. I did not have to do anything further. As an added gift I think I now know how to get my Battle Field 2 to work on Win7
I am looking forward to LV2010,
Regards Henning
