Error connecting to GPIB driver or device. The NI-488.2 driver may not be installed.

Hello,

I'm trying to talk to my Fluke Hydra Series ll through USB-GPIB.  When I use MAX and search for my instrument, I am able to find it.  Sending IDN through the VISA test panel also gives me no errors.  But when I use the example driver, i get the error "Possible error: Error connecting to GPIB driver or device. The NI-488.2 driver may not be installed." Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

Where did the VI come from that you are using? Make sure the driver is constructing the VISA reference correctly. If the VI is very old, make sure it is even using VISA to access the GPIB.

Try selecting the appropriate VISA class based on Instrument type

I'm using this one.

http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=984.

I tried to follow to see where the error occurs.  It looks like the error occurs in the VISA read function
