Error -200220: Device identifier is invalid

We are trying to run a simple program we wrote in LabVIEW 8.5 using a DAQ board for my research experience class and are having some issues. We are running it on a Mac OS X. We are getting an error message that reads "Error - 200220: Device identifier is invalid.

Check if you have provided valid DAQ resource name in the "Physical channels" control.  The DAQ card installed in the system must be selected in the physical channels control so that the vi functions as expected.

Hi,

To use the DAQmx Create Virtual Channel.vi, your chassis needs to be verified under NI-DAQmx Devices.  Once you have confirmed that the chassis is present and configured under NI-DAQmx, the physical channels input should self-populate with a list of available channels. Check the filtering of the names if the physical channel string you are using does not show up, you can do this by right clicking on the physical channels control and editing its properties.
