ESC set-up with PS3 controller

Hi,  I am trying to control thrusters on a UROV with a PS3 controller through a electronic speed controller with PWM signal.  I was able to control the thruster but the problem is that the range from min to max is very small on the right analog stick so it is very touchy.  Is there a way to set the min and max to be within that range of the ESC?  Thanks

What is an "ESC"?

I think the main problem is with the PS3 controller.  They just aren't that good of a device.  That is why any real gamers play on PC's with mice and don't mess with game systems.

You might be able to rescale the analog signal from the narrow Min to Max range that it has to something wider that works with your thrusters, but the fact that PS3 controller is touchy is something you might not be able to solve.  Perhaps you can do some level of filtering to smooth out the signal.
