Dynamic Data from a Serial response

Hello,

I need to set up a waveform graph with a time stamp on the bottom, as per
the NI examples, Graph Adapting to Attributes.vi. My main problem is the
data I need to display on the graph is read in from a serial port, it is
generated by custom hardware, so is not dynamic data. How do I convert this
data into dynamic data to display on the graph?
