Does the Model Interface Toolkit support the new Linux based cRIO-9068?

Solved!

Hello, I have a cRIO-9068 and am needing to integrate a Simulink model into my controller. Does the Model Interface Toolkit support the new Linux based cRIO-9068? For that matter, does Veristand? This page implies that it does not:

Hello,

Currently Model Interface Toolkit is not available for our Linux RT targets (i.e. the cRIO 9068), however, we are actively working on adding Linux RT support for the toolkit. Be on the lookout for our upcoming releases 🙂

Is this still the case? I'm looking to put a Simulink model on the 9068 with MIT. This posting is a year old and I was curious to know if it's been resolved yet.

Hi Southern_Cross,

Based on the readme:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D3F40C101B66128186257D020049D679

It looks like it is now supported! These resources should provide some additional details:

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/374160B-01/vsmithelp/mit_model_support/

Please note that NI VeriStand 2014 does not currently support he NI Linux Real-Time targets.

I am getting following error when I try to deploy vi attached in the figure. What is going wrong here?

Deploying NI_MIT.lvlib:Model Interface Toolkit.lvclass:Get Port Info by Index.viNI_MIT.lvlib:Model Interface Toolkit.lvclass:Get Port Info by Index.vi loaded with errors on the target and was closed.
LabVIEW:  Failed to load shared library NIVeriStand_MdlWrap.*:GetExtIOSpec:C . Ensure that the library is present on the RT target. Use MAX to install NI software or FTP to transfer custom libraries to the RT target.

It looks like you are missing a required component to use the MIT on the RT target. Go to MAX, find your target and under 'software' go to 'add/remove software' and see if you can find the component for the MIT and install it on the target.

You are right MIT was missing on the RT target. Am installing it - hopefully it works.

Hello,

can you please explain in details how you solved the problem? Thank you!

The answer from Sam Sharp basically spells it out in detail. The only thing he didn't explicitly mention was that the Toolkit has of course to be installed on your development machine before you check in MAX and install the runtime components for it to your RT target.

MIT support is not part of the recommended software set.  It can be added from a custom software installation:
