Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit: "unknown leak" from event "reference leak"

Does anyone know what "unknown leak" means?  is it bad? Thanks.

Hello BigShotEngineer,

Can you list what versions of software you're using? LabVIEW, DAQmx, etc.

Also if you run some shipping examples that come with LabVIEW do you get the same notifications? Also is your program behaving incorrectly in some way like erroring or using excessive amounts of your CPU?

So by asking more questions about my question, are you implying you don't know if it's harmless or not?  Yikes 😞

Which "shipping" examples are you referring to?

Luckily, there aren't any errors when I'm using the VI.  The only strange behavior is that sometimes Labview will crash with 0xC0000005 if I hit stop and then I hit run again within a few seconds.  I guess sometimes labview needs to rest?

I'm using Labview 2013 and DAQmx 9.7.5.  Below are the software installed on this machine.  Thanks.

Reference leaks occur when LV creates a reference, one of those olive green wires, and it never gets explicitly closed. I have run into these problems before. Usually they are harmless if you are not generating a ton of references or the references are to small amounts of memory. Two things to look for. If you're on windows, you can look at the task manager or simliar on another platform and see if the LV process is taking up increasing amounts of memory. Also if your program slows down over time, that is another sign. Try adding some companion close vi's to your application and see if the leaks disappear.
