DSC vs other SCADA + historian

Can anybody list the similarity or differences of have a labview DSC vs having, say Proficy iFIX scada + Proficy Historian?

Sounds like Proficy is way more full featured than DSC which is just a addon to LabVIEW to give your shared variables connection to OPC and the Citadel Database.  Of course using LV and DSC you can design anything you want but for large SCADA systems may not want to roll your own.

The one thing that I like about the DSC module is being able to group anything into a cluster and write that info to a binary string tag. This way you can save a package of info for a production part all in one variable at the same time. I haven't used the SCADA software that you mention, so I don't know if it has that capability.
