Convert Static Dispatch VI to Dynamic Dispatch VI

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm having a slow day, so I'm hoping someone else is working this Christmas and can answer this for me:

I want to convert some of my LabVIEW class Static Dispatch VIs to Dynamic Dispatch. I thought it would be as simple as changing the terminal types for the class input and outputs to "Dynamics Dispatch Input" and "Dynamic Dispatch Output (recommended)", but when I try that these are ghosted out. I know I'm tired right now, and looking forward to getting home for Christmas, but I just can't seem to figure this out (and I'm pretty sure I've done it before, so I know it's possible!)

Can anyone help?

(Merry Christmas!)

OK, nevermind, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I've been trying to convert my wrapper VIs, which use a non-class datatype, and indeed the called method VIs within can be converted to dynamic. Silly me! Smiley Tongue

Anyone have any advice besides manually converting the terminals to dynamic and creating the base class to override?  It will be tedious to do this manually.
