Controlling a NI PXIe-8880 through an external labview system

Solved!
Go to solution

I've worked with an older NI chasis & NI PXI 8330 controller before, but for a new task I'll be using the NI PXIe-1078 chasis with a NI PXIe-8880 controller and NI PXIe-4140 & NI PXIe-4110 modules.  I'm confused with how to control this system from labview on a laptop.  I've tried connecting via ethernet cable, but it's not being listed in NI MAX.  Should I connect it differently or do I need to fiddle with IP settings?

I'm not exactly sure why you would want to do that.  You could use TeamViewer or Remote Desktop or something like that but, normally I just hook up a monitor, keyboard and mouse.  That controller comes with Windows 7 and the chassis is smaller than some desktops.

It works wonderfully like that, thanks.
