Complied program can not find GPIB and serial devices

Solved!
Go to solution

I wrote a program (Labview 2009) and it runs fine on my PC.

After I compile it and try to run it on another PC (Dell Laptop) it cannot find my GPIB nor my serial device.

I have Measurement&Automation installed on the laptop and the GPIB device shows up and communicates from there.

I also have my serial device (a relay board) working from the relay board’s software.

I know the hardware is working but Labview doesn’t see them.

I get the error code 1073807202 for both the GPIB and serial device.

Help, please!

Thanks

Tony

Hi,

Did you install the VISA Run-Time engine on your computer ? Also are you using NI Serial and GPIB (488.2) based hardware ? If this is the case, you have to install the NI Serial driver and NI 488.2 driver.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response.

I assumed the VISA runtime was included in the Labview Runtime Engine.

Am I incorrect?

Thanks,

Tony

Hi,

Wrong ! This is not included in LabVIEW RTE 😉
