Change in FPGA-code behaviour from LV2011 to 2016?

Hi community,

i'm currently migrating a system from Labview 2011 to 2016, and from a Ni9025 to Ni9039 (old one was a permanent 98% 😉 ) and it seems to me the debugging possibilities were changed: before, I was able to start the frontpage of a FPGA-VI to have a look at some values while the calling RealtimeVI was running - now I only get the error message that it is already running in another instance - do I have any chance to get back to that old behaviour? I need to see some stuff working!

this should still work:

I have attached my test project. The error you see can happen, if not all is started from the same project instance FPGA and RT.

Can you modify my example so i can reproduce the error, or post a screenshot from the error?
