Here is the most basic tip for learning LabVIEW.
LabVIEW use a "data flow" paradigm.
While you are chasing down links and forming your understanding of LV ideas, make sure you get a good idea of what "Data Flow" means.
If you master that, you should be able to identify a "race condition" and some of the exceptions to the data flow paradigm.
The rest is usually on the other side of a "right-click".
