Arduino connected to sbRio 911 seriell port by using LabView Software

Hello,

i want to connect an Arduino Uno Developer Board to a NI sbRio 911 FPGA board. The Arduino will be connected to the Seriell Port J1 on the sbRio.

My Problem is, how can I use the seriell Port on sbRio in LABVIEW? I can´t find the right Port for the communication. Can someone please help me?

Thanks
 🙂

Thanks for your help 🙂

One question I have, what is the name of the port J1 in the Labview software?

In the example usually is something like Port8/DIO0, what is this name for the serial port J1?

I'm not sure. I think you can add every possible FPGA I/O to your project. Hopefully the name is J1 🙂

But I don´t want to connect FPGA I/O. I want to use the serial Port for communication to an Arduino Uno with the RS232 Protocol....And therefor I have to now how the Port J1 is called in Labview Software....so thats the big question Smiley Sad

HI,

did you look into this?

http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/sbRIO-9631-and-communicating-using-RS-232/td-p/1405868

You have to have installed the NI-VISA and NI-Serial RT on your sbRIO.

then you can communicate over the COM-Port.

Which sbRIO do you have? I think there was a typing mistake in the subject.
