Adding a 2nd, 3rd etc. input to Formula

Solved!
Go to solution

In the examples section there's

"Lissajous with Express VIs.vi"

in the Examples section under

/Fundamentals/Graphs and Charts/

I can remove both inputs from Formula and re-add them, but I cannot add a 3rd input in addition to 'Trim' and 'X'.

Also, I wonder how to change the text from 'Simulate Signal' to 'Simulate Signal for Horizon/Vertical' as done in the example.

You simply need to define a formula that contains more parameters.

You cannot have three inputs to a formula that uses only only two variables. That would make no sense.

Have you tried double-clicking the formula express VI? Have you looked at the help?

Adding the alias to the formula worked; do you also know how to change the text on the 'Simulate Signal' part?

Just double-click the text and change it. 😄

(It is the "caption" of the express VI and you can also hide it by right-click...visible items...))

(I would recommend you don't focus too much on express VIs, but learn "real" LabVIEW instead. Express VIs tend to hide a lot of code and dynamic wires obscure their content to the casual observer).)
