Acquiring Brain signal with Emotiv EPOC and LabVIEW

Hi my name is Alex Santos and I'm a student of Electrical Engineering at Inter American University of Puerto Rico and I just want to share the outcomes of my capstone project with the NI community.

The project is about controlling a remote car with the data acquisition for brain signals EPOC and LabVIEW

The following is a video demonstrating the application and a picture on the making

Hi Alex,

This is really amazing, there is a similar project done by some guys in Austin that make the electrical voltage of the eyes function as a Nintendo controler.

Here are other interesting links, you might be able to exhibit your project at NI WEEK.

And finally, at ni.com, you can find NI WEEK: http://www.ni.com/niweek/?metc=mtxrhy

Here you might be able to contact someone to show your project to the world in that week!!

Congratulations!!!

Hi Alex,

This is fantastic!  Please post this on our Biomedical User Group located here:  www.ni.com/biomedusers

We are actually experimenting with the Emotiv EPOC headset as well here at NI and hope to have some demos to share with everyone as well!

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Alex,

For some reason your video had a broken link so I wasn't able to see your project.

Did you need the Emotiv SDK to interface the EPOC to Labview?

Do you have a .vi you could share?

I have the headset, but not the SDK.

Does your .vi allow you to get the raw EEG signals?

Thanks.

Hi venkat07,

You will need to use the Epoc dll package and use the call library VIs from Labview. Use the c++ demo as your guide to see which functions you will need. So there is not a plug and play solution, you will need to do development so have fun doing a little dev on Labview, enjoy.
