Search and rescue for mindstorms 2.0 (nx?)

Hi guys, sorry not too knowledgeable about this stuff but could someone tell me the logic behind creating a search and rescue robot? (robocup style)

Having trouble getting a robot to follow a black line, detect when a green square is discovered and change direction to go the direction of the green square.

If possible could some kind of 'pseudo' code it for me?   I'm not using any coding just the block editor and am quite confused!

I'd like to recommend you to start developping your application based on simple examples, then when you get stuck with some specific issue you can share these questions here in the forums. 

This because it would be easier and faster for participants to give you a feedback about something that  you are currently doing.

Thanks man, I'll give it a try - I can get the line following part done, just having issues on detecting the green patch and then following it.
