Migrating from Labview 7.1 (with matlab scripts) to 8.6

Hi,

I am in the process of migrating a complicated measurement setup from Labview 7.1 to Labview 8.6. I have copied the 7.1 code to 8.6 "as is" and it seems to be working fine (my 8.6 system also has the run-time environment of 7.1).

On feature I am looking at changing is the subject of MATLAB scripts. The 7.1 code called several matlab scripts by using that MATLAB script functionality. This, of course, required to have an extra MATLAB license installed in the system. It seems that the MathScript functionality provides a run-time environment that doesn't need MATLAB. So my questions,

- Is it safe (ie do you know of important issues) to just copy/paste the MATLAB code to new MathScript boxes?

- What are the pro/cons of having MathScript boxes instead of the MATLAB calling scripts?

Thanks,

Fernando.
