New structure (VI-less subVI)

Hi

One feature I wish to see in near future is a new structure that consolidate part of the code into an icon, just like creating a subVI, but does not necessitate the creation of a VI external file.

Kindly read the attached pdf for details. Please consider and many thanks for reading…

This seems quite similar to this idea and to the some of the other ideas linked to in the comments there - http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/quot-Pseudo-VI-quot-The-end-of-single-use-sub-VIs/idi-...

This idea touches on a few other substantial issues required for functional programming.

As such it is related (IMHO) to the following idea:

Isn't that like inlining a VI? Besides you'll always need a file in order to use it elsewhere.

@Yamaeda: use subVI for parts of code that repeats itself. I am referring to parts of code that runs only once but occupy significant area of the block diagram and is a wire clutter nightmare...
