.NET charts

Status: New

I stumbled across this today

https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-12073

It is an XControl created by Thoric that allows LabVIEW users to acess Microsoft .NET Charts

I think NI should put some development effort into this.  It would be a great way to get some new cool charts.

I also agree that LabVIEW is a lot about graphing, there should be more fancy options available.

I would *much* rather see the same functionality (and more) covered by native graph controls. The ease of use and continuous cross-platform support is just too important.

(We had to use .Net last year ourselves, to be able to handle XY-data effective enough in one of our analysis tools. We tried very hard to avoid it, but the native XY graph is extremely slow with larger data sets, and lacks so much in navigation and presentation options. With .Net it was a breeze, but it brings in other issues that we would otherwise prefer to be without.)

I think we need both better native graphs in LabVIEW and access to .NET charts. The more (convenient) options, the better.
