Minimizing to the notification area (often called the "tray") is very custom behavior. There's no standard for it and there are already VIs which allow you to do this -
As for the double window, I agree with you, but I think it needs a separate idea. This doesn't always happen, but I don't know what the logic is behind whether this happens or not.
You can control this today by adding the line HideRootWindow=TRUE to your application's INI file, which is what I do, but unless you specify an explicit INI file to use in the build, LV keeps creating a new INI file without this line when you build the EXE. The idea would be to have this on by default. I'll let you create the new idea.
