Dear Sirs:
I'm seeking a contract LabView development position. I have been a software development contractor since 1990. With 10 years of LabView experience, I have an extensive library of .vi's which I can bring to your project. I can provide movies of running applications, user manuals, and code examples. I have an MSCHE with emphasis on process control and software engineering. I'm familiar with DSP and model based control mathematics.
Some interesting contracts over the decades have included: Real time control of a crude/vacuum unit. Neural network control of a light ends unit. A plastics plant material tracking system. A robotic radioactive stack sampler. A real time data support system for sales personnel. A vision system obtaining conveyor belt rock size distribution in real time. Control and data acquisition of many electromagnetic geophysical systems. Blast vibration simulation with search for optimal timing delay parameters.
I've used serial port (including OEM serial interface upgrade to wireless), gpib, usb, and tcp/ip (both ad-hoc and router based wireless) interfaces in LabView. I've interfaced to NI gear as well as many OEM systems. I've written a custom CIN interface for ASIO compliant access to ECHO audio sound equipment from within LabView. This 8 channel 24 bit device was used for simulation of geophysical surveys.
I'm familiar with state of the art Queue, and Windows Event, architectures from within LabView. My original code (as opposed to modification of existing systems) is highly modular and readable. If modification or leverage of existing code is required, I try to perturbate the existing system as little as possible.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Terry Leach
