which DB9 pinout is right for 182845-01?

The cable part number 182845-01 that plugs into the 10 way modular jack has 2 different pinouts given for the DB9 connector.

First pinout is:
<>

Second pinout is:
page 2-8 of http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/321824e.pdf

E.g first pinout shows DB9 pin 2 is TXD-, second shows pin 2 is CTS+.

One diagram has pins going from 1 to 10, the other has 10 to 1. The pinouts match, except for a typo on the 1st table (pin 8 should be RTS+).

The first pinout is given in the table titled DB-9 Male
in the 422 (485) column.

The second pinout is Table 2-1. DB-9 Pin Descriptions column 485 signal.

These pinouts are completely different. I am referring to the pinout of the 9 way D-type not the 10 position modular jack.

Ah. Yes the DB-9 table in the KB document is horribly incorrect (it appears to be a copy of the 10-position table that was never edited). The table in the user manual is correct. Also, check out the quick reference card at:

http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/7A8939051A4C0DEB86256E9800596033?opendocument&Submitted&&node=132090_US

Can you supply the KB number where you found the bad table so I can get a correction made?

Thankyou for clarifying that.
The KB number is http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/c6018f1df233effd86256ea90051409b?OpenDocument

The file with the incorrect table is the attachment KB pin map.doc.
