"visa resource name control"

I use LAbVIEW 6.1
I got a developping PC whith only 2 COM port's.
I want to make af .Exe file so I can use the application on a PC with 3 COM ports.
The applications control a powersupply on the COM3 port so I want to make COM3 default in my "VISA resource name Control", but I can't do so on my develloper PC because the Control can't see the port.
I have tryed to define a COM3 port in MAX, but that doesn't help !

You can manually type in the control string in the VISA resource control and then save the value as default. Then on the target system make sure COM3 is defined with the same string.

If you are planning on running the exe on a target PC with the VISA Runtime Engine installed (and not the full version), you should email NI Support and ask about extra configuration steps.

Starting with NI-VISA 3.0, you no longer need special configuration for the VISA Runtime Engine to recognize "COMx".
