Re: hello i want to interface the YIG oscilloscope with the laptop so first what i have to do?

The first step would be to explain what a yig oscilloscope is (link?). Then explain the type of connection it has - GPIB, serial, Ethernet, USB, etc.

I have no idea what sort of probe would be beneficial and I would not hazard a guess as to something so personal.

It doesn't matter what you want. It matters what connections are available on the oscilloscope.

You designed the scope? Then you would want to refer to this unless your USB interface already is using some defined class.

I don't know what a "u" is. I do know what a "you" is, though. Please use full words, not text-speak.

All instrument drivers can be found in IDNet: http://www.ni.com/downloads/idnet/

You didn't indicate what language you're using. If you're using LabVIEW you can also use Help -> Find Instrument Drivers.

Now why couldn't you ask that in the first place instead of the cryptic reference to YIG?
