gpib-usb b driver on Debian Sarge (kernel 2.4.27)

hello all!

we have bought a gpib-usb-b and we are trying to install the Linux driver for it on Debian Sarge ( kernel is 2.4.27 ).
when we run the INSTALL script we get the following error:

Installing NI-KAL (nikal): Starting NI-KAL failed!

Trying to load the nikal module manually results in plenty of "unresolved symbol..." errors

we'd be grateful if anyone has any suggestion that may help.

thanks in advance

Hi,

The GPIB-USB-B will definitely not work on a system with a 2.4 kernel, as the USB host controller support in 2.4 was not sufficient for our needs. If you look in the README, the GPIB-USB-B is officially supported on Mandrakelinux 10.0 and SUSE LINUX Professional 9.1. The device may work on a Debian system with a 2.6 kernel, but there is no official support for Debian.
