I've done some checking and have not been able to locate a simple document describing all of the changes from 1.6 to 1.7. Just the same, I would recommend upgrading to the latest possible version for your device. Miscellaneous bug fixes are made as needed in each revision of the software, and there is a good chance that the problem you are having has been addressed in more current versions of the software.
