do i need additional hardware besides HP-IB to use labview with 3487a

I am trying to link an HP3497a to Labview software. can this software control the 3497a for less than 10 inputs? What type of PCI card do I need? I have an HP-IB in there now.

A GPIB (aka HP-IB) card is necessary for the 3497 to communicate with a PC. If there's an HP-IB card, there's some knowledge bases about getting LabVIEW to connect to the card through VISA. There are some instrument drivers for the 3497A in LabVIEW and CVI at ni.com/idnet.

It may help to use a Data Acquistion card with this application. National Instruments sells a variety of Data Acquisition cards that plug into the PCI bus. See ni.com/catalog for more details.
