Where can I get an old style PCMCIA to GPIB cable?

Does anyone know where I can purchase an old style PCMCIA to GPIB cable? (See attached)

NI don't sell them anymore. The new cards are in 2 rows I think rather than 1.

After a lot of digging and searching I found this site.
http://www.cec488.com/cgi-exec/mivavm.cgi?Merchant2/merchant.mvc+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CWS&Product_...

Although there is no image, the rep assured me that the PCMCIA adaptor only had one row.

We are unable to provide the "non-latching" PCMCIA GPIB cable any longer. The CEC cable that you list will not work either, unfortunately. I'm not aware of any place that you can purchase these cables. If it would help, I could provide a pinout for you. Otherwise, a new latching PCMCIA-GPIB card is the only solution.

Thanks,

Are there no adaptors from non-latching to latching?

Do you think I will be better off with a USB-GPIB cable

or a replacement PCMCIA card and latching cable?

I suppose the USB cable has the advantage of plug and play on most PCs in the lab instead of restricting myself to a laptop.

There are no adapters that I know of. Both cables are/were custom-made for National Instruments products, but the nonlatching cannot be manufactured any longer.

If you cannot find or use your old nonlatching cable that came with the PCMCIA-GPIB board, your easiest option is to purchase a new controller, whether PCMCIA or USB. I agree that USB seems to be the way a lot of our customers are moving for the reasons of portability to desktops or laptops.

Hi ScottieB,

unfortunately I have the same trouble with the non-latching PCMCIA-to-GPIB-Cable.

It was a great help for me if you sent me the pinout and the connection schematic between the 2 connectors of this cable (or if you restart production of this cable, of course ...).

Best regards

Thomas
