Hi everyone;
I have downloaded and installed LabView 2013 Student Edition and started to learn using it a little bit.
I would like to try the Control Design and Simulation Module, and try to use VISA for USB communication.
But, I'm bit confused on how to install these, and quite frankly, the installation links didn't really help me that much.
The thing that twists me is the Labview DVD Platforme, which I do not pocess, but it seems that every other installation is used through this platforme.
So my question is, having Labview 2013 Student Edition installed, how to include/install the Control Design and Simulation Toool and VISA.
Thank you.

Hey Ouss4,
Since you do not have the Student Edition DVD, you'll need to download the Control Design and Simulation module separately. It can be found here:
Evaluate Control Design and Simulation with NI LabVIEW
https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/us/evaltlktcds/content.xhtml
Note that the page contains several download links, you'll only need to download the Control Design and Simulation Module (since you already have LabVIEW):
For NI-VISA, the driver can be found here:
NI VISA 5.4
http://www.ni.com/download/ni-visa-5.4/4230/en/
Hope this helps!

Hi Ryan and thank you for your response;
Actually I have downloaded the Control Design and Simulation module, and installed it, and also activated it.
But I still don't have any Control VI in my labview. Please see the picture below, I don't really know how to explain this.
Regards.

Hi ania914,
If you have a palette that is empty or has missing functions, we have a KnowledgeBase article that can help you through the process of getting it.
Missing Icons on Functions or Controls Palette in LabVIEW

If that does not help you, repairing the Control Design Assistant might be your next best bet.
How Do I Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software?

Hi Liliana90,
Previous versions of the Control Design and Simulation toolkit are only available if you have a standard support contract. If you have a support contract, you can log in to your account and download Control Design and Simulation 2012. Otherwise, if you are a student, you can easily download the student version of LabVIEW 2014 and Control Design and Simulation 2014.
