Using "VISA Open" I get an error -1073807202

When I try to open a GPIB VISA session using "VISA Open" I get an error -1073807202, possible reasons: VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF009E) a required code library couldn't be found or opened.
I've tried reinstalling LabView 5.0.1, but that didn't help. How can I find out which file(s) are missing? The OS is Win98.

Hi,

First, make sure you have NI-VISA installed. You can go to MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer), under the software entry and check for NI-VISA. Check the following knowledge base article: How Do I Resolve VISA Error -1073807202 (0xBFFF009E)?.

Also, Is the instrument detected by MAX if you do a scan for instruments?. This is to check the the GPIB driver (NI-488.2) is also installed and working.

Thank you,

In the meantime I've tried updating the NI-VISA software to the latest version. This has solved the problem.
