RS-485 Communication Using Laptop

Hello,

We currently run one of our reactors through LabVIEW on a laptop connected to a CompactDAQ. We are installing a couple of new instruments which require connection through RS-485. I am aware of the NI USB-485/2 interface, but I was wondering if there is a CompactDAQ module available that would perform the same task.

I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, but the instruments are Micro Motion / Emerson coriolis flow meters.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: RS-485 Communication Using Laptop

Hi Miguel,

We don’t have modules for serial communication for the cDAQ platform, only for the cRIO. So for your application you should use the USB 485 interface that you mentioned.
