MAX2.0 strings with embedded control characters?

I'm sending test stings to my instrument with MAX2.0 "communicate with
instrument" utility.
I need to send a string with a linefeed in the middle.
\n and \x0A don't seem to work.
What do I need to do?
Thanks, mike

Hello Mike,

I presume you are able to send commands in general using the communicator, but are simply having trouble with sending escape characters. You can try using \\n, where the first slash indicates that you will be sending an escape character, although, in general you will not want to use the communicator as part of your application (it is really just a getting started/validation tool). You will not have trouble sending such characters using whatever application development environment you choose. Repost if you have questions about how to do this, for example, in LabVIEW.
