How can I get MAX in my virtual machine to recognize my DAQ?

I am trying to control a DAQ through a windows XP virtual machine. The error message I recieve is as follows:

Error 200220 occurred at DAQ assistant

Possible Reason(s)

Device identifier is not valid

Device Specified: Dev2

Suggested Device(s): Dev1

Naturally, it seemed the solution was to specify Dev1, and that I could do this through the MAX. When I go to Devices and Interfaces in the MAX I don't see any devices listed.

The DAQ is recognized by the windows device manager, but the driver selected is C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\nixsrkw.

I read in my search for a solution that I should try to change my driver to ausbtmc.sys. I following instructions to update the driver using a 'browse from file' option, I found I was unable to select (or even see) the .sys file.

Does anyone have an idea for what I can try? I am a labView noob, I would greatly appreciate specific instructions if you can help.

Thanks!

Leith

Hello LeithZ,

I got a very similar issue and it was solved by a Win XP hotfix.

I hope it helps.
