Help with initiating an TGA1242 in labview via GPIB

Hi

I have a problem that is really annoying. When I try to initiate TGA 1242 (Arbitary waveform generator) it just stops in a menu on the instrument. Labview thinks that the initiation worked perfectly but later on when I try to control it, Labview tells that the instrument is not initiated.

I have tried NI Spy and when the initiating starts there is a communication stream in the GPIB interface but it stops when "ibwrt(UD0, "BEEPMODE ERROR.",15 (0xF)) is sent. The display on the instrument then shows the error menu with warnbeep OFF.

I have also tried Measurement & Automation EXplorer. "Communicate with instrument" works as expected.  

Is there anyone out ther who can help me out?

Are you using a LabView driver for your instrument?

The problem is solved.

It is totally normal that the Waveform generator ends up in the error menu after initiation
