Can lavView do precise control of 3ms of less.

I am controlling an internal signal generator with dual channels over GPIB. The dilemna is precise control of 3ms or less. Turning one channel on while turning the other channel off in 3ms intervals. Is this not a problem?

This is a problem with windows and with the accuracy of a pc's clock and it may also be a problem with gpib communication. Windows is simply not deterministic enough. The OS will be constantly switching between LabVIEW and other tasks it has to perform. You'll also have to determine how long it actually takes to transmit the gpib commands and for the instrument to respond. Unless you're using high speed gpib, the max rate for gpib is about 1MB/s and often the actual throughput is much less.
