Basic Connection to TPS2024B

I have a very basic task: to track 2 separate DC voltage signals over time, recording a measurement every 5 sec over a few hours.

I have an ASUSPRO with Intel i7 running Windows 7 64bit

I have access to a Tektronix TPS024B Serial #C010563.

I installed LabVIEW Signal Express Tektronix Edition 2.5.1

I installed NI VISA, which installed NI MAX 14.0.1f1.

I am connecting through a USB-to-RS-232 cable. The cable driver has installed successfully on COM5.

When I use NI MAX to communicate with the scope with the built in *IDN?\n code, I do get a reply from the scope. However, SignalExpress does not recognize the scope.

Any basic advice or links to such? Thanks.

Did you install the IVI driver and configure it in MAX?

No, I didn't have the IVI driver installed.

I have done that now, but LV is still not seeing the scope. I am not sure how to configure the driver in MAX. Are there instructions somewhere that I can search for?

Please clarify what you are using. Your first post says SignalExpress and your last says LV (LabVIEW?). The two are not the same.

Yes, there are instructions in MAX.

It is "NI LabVIEW SignalExpress Tektronix Edition 2.5.1"

That 2.5.1 version was released in 2009

The scope is newer than that
