ASRL Number in MAX differ from COM Number in

Hello,

I have install the external "PCI 8S Serial card RS-232" (Model EX-41098-2 from EXSYS). In Windows Device Manager ports for this card named from COM1 to COM8 (see screenshot). In NI MAX all ports have a plausible assignment except for COM4. This will assign to ASRL9 and not to ASRL4 (see screenshot).

I have verify the port assignment in Agilent-IO-Tool. Here is COM4 assigned to ASRL4 (see screenshot).

I didn't find a way to change ASRL number in MAX. Has anybody an idea, what the reason of that assignment?  Thank you for help.

Its likely that some registry entery for serenum or a dependant HKEY is reserving asrl4 for some other known (to your system) Plug-n-Play device.  Since MAX won't go unreserving HKEY enteries.  Agilient IO is not as pollite and can be used to create a conflict like you describe

VISA won't care about anything other than the Alias.
