8 port rs-232 has resource conflicts between ports, not other devices

Installed NI-DAQ card, which was fine, and then NI 8 port RS-232 card. These are the only cards in Win 2000 system. 7 of 8 ports one this card have IRQ/memory conflicts in device manager, but only with each other, not with the NI-DAQ or other devices. Currently using NI-Serial ver. 1.5. Cannot manually change resource settings. What to do?

Conficts are reported even if the ports are correctly sharing resources. You can run the NI-Serial Diagnostics to verify functionality.

By the way, I highly recommend getting NI-Serial 1.6 which is freely downloadable off ni.com.

Hello,

I just wanted to include a link to that driver as well. That would be the first thingI would recommend doing would be to install NI-Serial 1.6, assuming you are using Windows 2000/XP. If not then you will not be able to use 1.6. Here is that link.

Hope this helps!
