How to write data on the DeviceNET bus,

I’m using LV 2011, trying to measure 16 TC channels, take the readings (°C) and write it to the DNET bus.

The first part is easy and I use the 4353 to read data.

The 2nd part, I didn’t do before, and I’m following an example “Write to DN “ , but not sure about the

  • Configuration
  • Set the 8532  as a slave
  • How often to write
  • Type of data e.g. DBL, U8 or TXT to be sent to the bus
  • Do I use one loop for both the DAQmx and DNET write

If there an example similar to that this would be great.

Re: How to write data on the DeviceNET bus,

The 8532 board does currently not support Slave mode. Did you buy the board because you thought it is supported?

In the long run slave support is a feature we would like to add.

Re: How to write data on the DeviceNET bus,

I'm not sure if I need to set it in the slave ?

So can I use the 8532 to write to the DNET bus , do I use the write VI?

in this application, what should be the proper settings?

Re: How to write data on the DeviceNET bus,

Yes you can write to the bus. But the current version of the driver has no API, just basic variable support. Have a look at this post to download the beta that comes with API and examples.
