Hello,
I have Labview 2009 with RT support, i downloaded NI-industrial communications for EtherCAT 1.2 and 2.0 installed them. I formatted my desktop PC (dell optiplex 755) with two intel pro/gt1000 ethernet cards. But now I want to communicate to a EtherCAT device, I followed the steps on https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000YHbbCAG&l=en-US but can't get it to work. I can't configure my second network card to EtherCAT and also can't install NI-industrials communications on my RT PC.
What can I do to install ethercat ?

I now configured the second ethernet card as EtherCAT after I installed Indcom 2.0. But when I make a new project I can't find EtherCAT master cards

Hello,
Supporting desktop PC as EtherCAT master is a new feature in EtherCAT 2.0 and LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2010. LabVIEW 2009 doesn't support this feature.

That is what I found out myself (after alot of searching). So I installed Labview 2010 + RT and EtherCAT 2.0. Now I can select my second intel pro gt 1000 as ethercat card. But when I make a project it says that there are no ethercat master in de PC.

Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter uses Intel® 82541PI Gigabit Controller, which is unfortunately not supported by EtherCAT 2.0.
For Real-Time Desktop target, EtherCAT 2.0 driver officially supports 3 Ethernet adapters as EtherCAT master on it: NI PCIe-8231, NI PCI-8232 and NI PCIe-8235. You might want to find the list here.
Hope it helps!

Hmm, I see. To bad they are so exspensive, would the Intel PRO/1000 PT also work it has the same chipset ?

We can't 100% guarantee that since we didn't test the Intel PRO/1000 PT adapter before. But since the chipset is the same, it's more likely that it can work (compare to the GT).

I now have a PC with a PT adapter PCI-e, but I get an error in ETSPC:
scheduler assertion error c0000005

It worked the Intel 1000PT

I have a similar problem I am runnning LV 2011 SP1 with EtherCAT 2.3. i have loaded the EtherCAT 2.3 onto my desktop. In Max configured my 2nd ethernet port as an EtherCAT port. No problems so far. I creaed a new project and added my RT Target. Then I right-clicked on my target to add the etherCAT Master but got message the no adapter was found for EtherCAT on the target, that I needed to make sure I had the EtherCAT software installed on it and that it was configured properly using MAX.
